In a report from the charity Diabetes UK, It says that adeqaute levels of screening, diagnosis, and treatment could save the sight of hundreds of people every year in the UK. The report goes on to say that older may be dying because their diabetes is diagnosed too late for effective treatment which is a scandalous affair. Far too many people ar not getting the care they need to manage the disease properly to minimise their risk. The report goes on to say that 1.4 million people in the UK are diagnosed as sufferers each year, but as many as 1 million had the condition but were not aware of it..... |
